Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before using OptiGuard.

1. Acceptance of Terms and Conditions

By downloading, installing, accessing, or utilizing the OptiGuard software application ("the Software"), you explicitly agree to be bound by these comprehensive Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must immediately cease all use of the Software and remove it from your device. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you (the user) and the OptiGuard development team ("we," "us," or "our"). We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time without prior direct notice, though we will always host the most up-to-date version on this page. Your continued use of the Software signifies your absolute acceptance of any updated terms.

2. License Grant and Restrictions

OptiGuard is distributed under a freeware license model. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and run the Software on any compatible Windows device for both personal and commercial use. You are expressly prohibited from reverse-engineering, decompiling, disassembling, or attempting to derive the source code of the Software. Furthermore, you may not sell, rent, lease, or redistribute modified versions of OptiGuard. The core executable, assets, and branding remain the exclusive intellectual property of the OptiGuard development team.

3. System Modifications and Administrative Access

OptiGuard is a powerful system optimization tool that requires administrative access to function effectively. By granting these permissions during execution, you authorize the Software to scan deep system directories, delete temporary files, modify Windows Registry keys, and forcefully uninstall designated applications. While OptiGuard uses carefully tested, native Win32 APIs to ensure safety, you acknowledge that modifying system files carries inherent risks. You agree to use the Software responsibly and understand that you are in full control of the cleaning operations triggered through the user interface.

4. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Software will be error-free, completely secure, or that it will resolve all performance issues on your specific hardware configuration. We cannot foresee every possible software conflict or hardware limitation that may occur within the vast Windows ecosystem.

5. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL THE OPTIGUARD TEAM OR ITS CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, PROCUREMENT OF SUBSTITUTE GOODS OR SERVICES; LOSS OF USE, DATA, OR PROFITS; OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION) HOWEVER CAUSED AND ON ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE OR OTHERWISE) ARISING IN ANY WAY OUT OF THE USE OF THIS SOFTWARE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE. You assume full responsibility for maintaining backups of your important data before performing deep system cleanups.

6. Third-Party Links and Auto-Updater

OptiGuard includes an Auto-Updater feature that connects to our official servers (`optiguard.pages.dev`) to check for the latest releases. We guarantee that this feature is secure and does not transmit personal data. However, if you download OptiGuard from third-party websites or unofficial mirrors, we cannot guarantee the integrity or safety of that executable. We strongly advise users to only download the Software from our official website to avoid tampered files or malware injections.
